Collection: Navy Stripe Print
As our SS23 theme centred around the garden and getting outside to enjoy the sunshine, we couldn’t help thinking about picnic blankets and table linen. We wanted a ‘neutral’ partner for our statement prints. We sourced this modern and fresh oversized Gingham check. It’s woven as a double face, meaning it is the same on either side and is super fine and lightweight. It drapes beautifully and is so cool to wear in the hotter summer months. It is also the perfect base for embroidered and printed details to bring our collection together.
As with the Gingham check, we wanted to find a perfect stripe, as nothing says summer better than a fresh blue and white stripe. The brief for our stripe was retro and vintage canvas ticking fabric, which would normally be used like a calico or toile fabric. The finished fabric has a raw quality to it and a slightly textural surface due to it’s herringbone weave. We just love using it as a ‘neutral’ to sit beside the more statement and colourful prints. We have added printed and embroidered characters from our garden print on some pieces. We think it’s the perfect alternative to a summer canvas or chambray and works beautifully in loose fit trousers and shorts.
